Renewable, Biodegradable, Sustainable Silk

MULBERRY SILK from the Mulberry silkworm (bom bxy mori) spins an extremely fine, even, pure white thread. Silk fabric woven from this thread is correspondingly fine and may be dyed with the most brilliant of colors. This type of silk is considered the most valuable.

When you choose silk you are choosing:

A renewable resource as opposed to a finite material, such as fossil fueled derived textiles, like nylon or acrylic. Silk is a protein fiber spun by a silk moth larvae.

A biodegradable product, being a natural fiber, silk is readily biodegradable after its useful life. It can go on to produce useful mulch or compost, and hence soil, instead of taking many hundreds of years to decompose, like most petroleum- based fabrics.

A sustainable product, our fabric is supplied by small weaving enterprises and farming households in Vietnam, where silk production has been a tradition for generations. By supporting these incredible craftspeople that are dedicated to keeping the ancient art of handwoven fabrics alive. You are helping to ensure financial stability for rural villagers.
